Common SEO Service Myths

We know that SEO can seem confusing and even a little overwhelming, especially if you’ve been burned by SEO companies in the past. Because of this, you may be reluctant to try SEO services in the future, out of fear of reliving your horrible experience. We get it. That’s why we compiled a list of common SEO misconceptions and dispelled to help you set your expectations beforehand to improve the likelihood of having a positive experience in the future.

Myth 1: “I’ve heard SEO is too time-consuming.”

SEO is an ongoing process, but the long-term benefits outweigh the initial investment. SEO leads to sustained organic traffic, increased visibility, and improved rankings over time, which leads to a consistent stream of customers. So what that means that while you are working, SEO can, in theory, generate traffic on autopilot.

Myth 2: “SEO will not work for my specific industry.”

SEO strategies can be tailored to suit different businesses, and a customized approach can address specific industry challenges. We’ve worked with businesses in a variety of industries. Here are a few; Home Improvement. Healthcare. Software, Automotive, Culinary, Retail. Didn’t see your industry? Still, reach out we are experts we cater to any unique business guaranteed.

Myth 3: “All SEO Services Providers Are Scammers”

Myth 4: “My business doesn’t need SEO.”

SEO (Search Engine Optimization) can be highly beneficial for a busines like yours.

Increased Online Visibility: SEO helps improve your website’s ranking on search engines. When potential customers search for products or services related to your business, a strong SEO strategy ensures that your website appears higher in search results, increasing visibility.

Targeted Traffic: SEO allows you to optimize your website for specific keywords related to your business. This helps attract targeted traffic, meaning people who are actively searching for what your business offers are more likely to find and visit your site.

Competitive Advantage: Many of your competitors are likely investing in SEO. By having a well-optimized website, you can stay competitive and potentially outperform others in search engine rankings.

These are just to name some of the many benefits of SEO. To learn more we encourage you to read our what is SEO guide, which explains the benefits of SEO in more detail.

Myth 5: “I don’t need SEO because I am doing other marketing”

That’s okay! SEO is supposed to work with your other marketing channels. It has a “snowball effect” when paired with PPC (Pay-Per-Click) and Social Media. A diversified marketing strategy that includes SEO can lead to a more comprehensive and effective overall approach.

Myth 6: “SEO is easy to do by yourself”

While you are more than welcome to do your own SEO, it may not be a good long-term strategy. See the thing is when you start to get SEO results, you will soon find that your phone and email won’t stop buzzing. So naturally you may find yourself too busy to keep up with your SEO efforts. Thus leaving them neglected, which if done too long, can quickly erase your efforts. Google, changes often, so it may be wise to hire someone who’s job it is to stay on top of SEO trends and maintenance. Doing this will free you up to amplify other parts of your business.

Also, not to be harsh, but a lot of business owners make the mistake of thinking they are better at SEO than what they are. With SEO it is so easy to go down rabbit holes, where you could be spending hours learning and thinking you have a solution in place, only to find that it was completely wrong and you have to suddenly erase everything you did.

The Dunning-Kruger Effect is all too common in the SEO world. We recommend that you leave the work to someone who does this for a living that way you can save yourself time, energy, and potential frustration.

Myth 7: “You need a lot of money to do SEO”

Out of all the objections, this by far is the one I hear the most from potential SEO investors.  The thing is, you can without a doubt do SEO yourself, you don’t need an agency, a freelancer, or a consultant to help you do it.

The only problem is, that there may come a time when you are just too busy to keep up with your efforts. Like I said, with objection 6, neglecting your SEO can have consequences on your bottom line.

So my best advice is to hire someone to work your SEO account, but do it on the terms that work best for you.

There is nothing wrong with starting small with a project or an hour consultation, just to get your feet wet.

Any amount of funds invested in SEO can produce amazing benefits. So don’t let your small budget stop you from investing. Again, go back to our SEO project table to see what are some common projects that fit your investing power.
